WE WORSHIP the GOD and FATHER of our LORD JESUS CHRIST; with Him are the origin and destiny of nature and of man (Acts 17:28, Isaiah 40:28).

WE BELIEVE in all the basic doctrines of historic Christianity (Ephesiana 2:20).

WE BELIEVE that GOD, as we know Him through the Holy Scriptures, is the Sovereign Creator of all things (Isaiah 40:28).

WE BELIEVE in the inerrancy of Scripture: that the Old and New Testaments of the Bible are the inspired, infallible Word of GOD (Psalm 119:160).

WE BELIEVE that GOD is eternally existent in three distinct Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (1 John 5:7).

WE BELIEVE that JESUS CHRIST is fully GOD and fully human (Colossians 2:9); that He was born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:22,23); that He lived a sinless life (1 John 3:5); that He provided for the atonement of sin by His death on the cross (1 John 1:7, Hebrews 9:14); that He was bodily raised from the dead (Romans 1:4, Acts 13:33); that He ascended back to His Father in Heaven (Acts 1:9) where He makes intercession for those who trust in Him (Hebrews 7:25); and will return as He promised, for those who are waiting for Him and looking for His coming (John 14:3, Hebrews 9:28).

WE THEREFORE BELIEVE that in the life, teaching, crucifixion and triumphant resurrection of JESUS CHRIST, GOD’s one true Son, GOD has revealed Himself to all people, and reconciled them to Himself.

WE BELIEVE that by the working of the Holy Spirit of GOD, we are invited and enabled to turn from our sin and put our faith in JESUS CHRIST (1 John 1:9, Isaiah 1:18). Also that the “fruit” of the Holy Spirit of GOD should be evidenced in the life of every true believer in Him (Galations 5:22,23).

HOW WE CAME TO BE

On 3 March 1989, Alistair Syme ZL3TT (SK) approached Malcolm Williams ZL1UE (now SK) with regard to forming a Fellowship which would consist of Christian radio hams throughout New Zealand, meeting on various net frequencies with other Christian hams within NZ and world wide. This group was formed, and functioned very effectively for several years, until it finally ceased operation about 1993. In 2003, during a contact between Graham ZL3NZ and Malcolm ZL1UE, the possibility of re-forming the Fellowship was discussed. From a small list of known Christian hams, others were discovered throughout New Zealand and invited to join the Fellowship, which currently operates with members in NZ, Australia, and one NZer currently serving in Thailand; also an Advisory Committee consisting of Netmasters Kelvin ZL1LY, Ken ZL3OZ and Trevor ZL2TN, with Graham ZL3NZ who actions decisions made by the Advisory Committee.

OUR AIM

Our aim is to function as a group of ZL Christian hams, providing fellowship and support for each other and others in our communities, both Christian and non-Christian. In carrying out this task we are independent and self-governing, not isolated from other Christian groups, nor accountable to them. As an inter-denominational group representing many different Christian Churches, we aim also to always stand for integrity and respect in all our dealings with others, and confine activities to within the laws governing amateur radio.

HOW YOU MAY BECOME INVOLVED

On behalf of the NZ Amateur Radio Christian Fellowship, it is our pleasure to give you a very warm invitation to join us. We are ordinary people with different occupations and backgrounds, sharing in common our living faith in JESUS CHRIST. We don’t have a formal “initiation” into membership. The only standard we set is that one should agree with the philosophy of our Fellowship as outlined in the Statement of Faith (above), or aspire to do so.
